Queen of Cupcakes

Queen of Cupcakes

I am finally up and running with my new computer – brilliant birthday present from Eddie – so can get back to my blogging at last.  The Wednesday scrappers at the Memory Shed said that I was not allowed to make my own birthday cake  and the 2 Lisa’s got together and made me a beautiful Queen of Cupcakes cake.  I was so touched by their gesture and we had such fun celebrating Shaunagh’s birthday, with her Kaiserscraft cake, and mine together at scrapbooking on Wednesday.  Thanks girls for the beautiful presents and all the birthday wishes and birthday fun, I will treasure the memories forever.

Happy Birthday Shaunagh

Rottweiller Birthday Cake

KaisersCraft!

When it came to making a cake for Shaunagh I drew inspiration from the stories of her naughty puppy Kaiser. Kaiser has chewed his way through a number of unusual objects and I put these on the cake: 3 remotes, apples, persian carpet, books, photos.  He also managed to take a bit out of Shaunagh’s tortoise.  If I had included all the items Kaiser has made his way through though the cake might have collapsed!  So here’s to you Shaunagh and your delightfully naughty Kaiser.

Another Year Older

Chocolate Caramel Cupcakes

Thanks for all the Warm Wishes for my Birthday.

Yesterday was my turn to celebrate my birthday and once again it was a temperamental August day with freezing cold temperatures.  I made some chocolate cupcakes with a yummy caramel icing and caramel chocolate topping.  Once again I was totally spoilt with lovely goodies and warm wishes from all my friends.  This picture was taken with the cupcakes under 2 cute glass domes, a gift from Tracy, and the fire in the background.  Thanks to everyone for all the brilliant birthday wishes.

Girls Rule!

Cupcakes with Lipsticks, eyeshadows & slippers

Girls Rule!

These cupcakes were specially made for a Sweet Sixteen pamper birthday party.  It was a new challenge to do something this ‘girly’ and make them funky at the same time so I made lipsticks, eyeshadows, perfume bottles, nail polishes & slippers  in funky girly blues and purples.  All the decorations were made out of sugar paste and I added a sheen finish to the lipsticks and eyeshadows.  As usual I had fun making these cupcakes and loved how the decorations turned out.

Celebrating Women's Day

Wishing all the women everywhere a magnificent day today and enjoy celebrating the fact that you are uniquely you.  To celebrate I am posting my butterfly cupcake display that I did for the Benvenuto Women’s Day Breakfast on Friday morning.  Women from different businesses were invited to spend an amazing morning at Benvenuto (www.benvenuto.co.za) where they enjoyed a delicious breakfast, different talks and displays and were able to network in the beautiful surrounds of Benvenuto.  I was so excited to take part in the morning and once again have the opportunity to show off my cupcakes.  I love the fact that Benvenuto aim is to delight their guests and mine is to delight with my cupcakes.

Cupcakes for Catherine

Chocolate Cupcakes with Chocolate Roses

Chocolate Roses for an Irish Rose

I couldn’t resist trying out my new chocolate moulding skills on the cupcakes I made for Catherine’s birthday.  She loves chocolate and the roses and butterflies looked really pretty on the chocolate cupcake with coffee icing.  The coffee iced cupcakes are wonderful as a gift because as you open the box you get the most wonderful coffee aroma from the cupcakes just perfect to delight all the senses.  Happy Birthday Catherine.
