Louis Vuitton Cupcakes

Charlize celebrated her 18th Birthday in lavish Louis Vuitton style this weekend and her cupcakes were made to match the theme and colours of her birthday celebration.  I made a variety of small Louis Vuitton handbags, scarves, shoes and logo discs which I popped onto Louis Vuitton logo flowers for Charlize’s cupcakes.  The creamy vanilla and decadent chocolate iced cupcakes were the perfect colour palette for these sugar paste decorations. Thanks to a last minute visit to Laeeque Bakeware in Overport, Durban on Wednesday, I found the a perfect handbag mould with the elegant Louis Vuitton handbag. Thanks Nadim and your staff for excellent service and I will definitely pop in on my next trip to Durban.

Have fun Charlize being 18 and thank you Vanessa for such a fun order. My best reward was to wake up to Vanessa’s thank you message this morning…

“Thank you for having such an awesome talent . . . your cupcakes were just the best . . . they looked absolutely stunning. . . (smiley faces)”

Cupcakes for a Writer

Justin turned 18 recently and as he is a keen writer I made sugar paste J’s stamped with text and popped them onto an embossed disc. For the sugar paste pages I used a small page with text stamp and stamped with edible colouring onto white sugar paste. I cut out the pages and then left them to dry slightly wavy to give them some shape and character. I hope you enjoyed your 18th birthday Justin!Justin's 18th Birthday CupcakesJustin's 18th Birthday Cupcakes

Blue Butterfly Cupcakes for Nikita’s 18th Birthday.

Blue Butterfly Cupcakes

Blue Butterfly CupcakesI was thrilled with this order of Blue Butterfly Cupcakes that Alison ordered for Nikita’s 18th Birthday celebration a few weeks ago.  Not only do I love making these butterflies but I was inspired by the attention to detail that went into the planning for this wonderful birthday party.  I had to include in my photos above the great idea of the blue cocktails served to the guests as they entered the party and the clever way they were lit up with fairy lights at the entrance.  The center piece on each table was a different design in shades of blue and silver giving a calm yet quirky feel to the function room.  I could just imagine the surprise and awe of the guests as they walked in to this beautifully decorated function room.  The cupcakes I made with butterflies in shades of blue and silver were perfectly in place amidst the delightful decor for the celebration.  Thank you Alison for your cupcake order and for including my cupcakes on such a wonderful occasion.
