Practical inspiration for my cupcakes came in the form of the new Joseph Joseph scale Eddie gave me for Christmas.  An awesome present that meant that finally I could get my ingredients weighed to the exact gram.  This really helps for the basic ingredients for the cupcakes.  When I am experimenting with flavours then I use my instinct.  Thanks to Eddie and Teigh and Ceire my brilliant family I always have willing tasters and critics in the house so thanks guys!
