I had an order for Alice in Wonderland cupcakes for a little girl’s party on Saturday. I was delighted as yet another chance to do mad hatter hats, pocket watches and teacups in different colours. I thought I would challenge myself and try and make a sugarpaste cheshire cat. After researching pictures and mulling over how to make this cute and rather naughty cat I eventually decided on the youtube option. I don’t normally go on youtube as I don’t have the patience to wait for the video download. However seeing as there was no download forthcoming from my own brain I decided to go the electronic route instead!
I put my icing mat and tools in front of my computer and as the delightful youtuber explained to my cheshire cat challenged brain I followed her instructions. I was so delighted to have a rather good-looking cheshire cat by the time the video was finished – all of a couple of minutes. I added on my own eyes and my son insisted he should have eyebrows too. I have to say a huge thank you to youtube and the artists who take the time to share their knowledge electronically. I am now a fan and hopefully will be able to share some other creations with you all as I catch up on youtube in between episodes of So You Think You can Dance.
Looks cute Lisa … I also hate those damn youtube things that take so long to download!
