Going Potty!

Cupcakes with fondant pot decoration

Gourmet Gadgets Cupcake

My friend Ivana celebrated her birthday on Thursday and I wanted to make cupcakes for her.  She has a passion for cooking and anything to do with food and she sells in the Tool Shop the most brilliant Staub cooking pots in the most delicious colours.  No excuse for not wanting to cook every night with these gorgeous pots.  Here is one of the cupcakes photographed with the cutest of the Staub pots.   I made little pots for the top of the cupcakes in the colours of  some of the Staub pots.

Chinese Please

Chinese Themed Cupcakes

China here we come!

These cupcakes were inspired by a farewell party for a couple going on holiday to China.  I thought these cupcakes would capture the mood of a Chinese holiday perfectly.  Again I did some google research for ideas and made these cute Chinese lanterns and fans.

Oodles of Noodles

My son had the brilliant idea of a bowl of noodles and chopsticks so I made little black bowls of noodles and then iced the rest of the cupcakes to make them look like a big bowlsof noodles.  I used toothpicks for the chopsticks and cut them in half for the chopsticks on the small bowls.

Tracy’s Tinky Birthday Cake.

Dog Cake

Tinky

I had the chance to make another birthday cake for another awesome scrapper in our Wednesday group, Tracy.  Tracy has a passion for bright colourful paper and her layouts as a result are always bright and funky reflecting her cheerful personality.  She is also a kind, generous and fun person to have in the class.  Her birthday cake was inspired by her love for her gorgeous Schnauzer, Tinky.  Thanks to a cute photo of Tinky I managed to capture a little of her character in the cake for Tracy.  I had to include a cupcake each for her bowl of water and bowl of food.  I found these iced dog bones at Kadees in Fourways and they finish off the bowl perfectly.  The bow I made from pink icing.  I know Tracy loved her cake and I had a great deal of fun making it for her.

Yummy Mummy.

Maxwell Williams Mug - Yummy Mummies

Yummy Mummies

Taking a break from baking today as it will be a busy week with orders for cupcakes.  Had to post a picture of this brilliant Maxwell Williams Yummy Mummies  mug I bought myself.  I couldn’t resist it with these crazy girls dancing in cupcake holders.  Always makes me smile when I have my coffee in this mug.  I am turning into a real cupcake ‘poppie’.

Cupcake Kisses

Saying I Love You with a Cupcake!

Paige arrived yesterday with these gorgeous cupcakes.  They were Nigella Lawson’s coffee cupcakes artistically decorated with lips, hearts and stars.  It was great to taste a cupcake I hadn’t made and they were delicous so this will be my next recipe to try out.  Of course Teigh was delighted with this gorgeous show of affection so many hearts and kisses a sign of true love and don’t they say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.  Well Paige you certainly have found your way into Teigh’s heart and of course into ours with your bubbly and creative personality.  Thank you for a wonderful surprise.

Cute Teacup Cupcakes.

Time for Tea!

These cupcakes were for a lady who does scrapbooking at the Memory Shed.  She was celebrating her 70-something birthday and  Lisa said she wanted cupcakes with teacups on them. These are the little pink and lavender teacups with teaspoons I made for them.  (Hint – these were really simple to make.  I moulded a small round ball of coloured fondant and then using a tool with a rounded end moulded the ball into the teacup.  The saucer I made cutting out circles from the fondant.  From the leftover fondant I cut out small flowers which I stuck on to the teacups.)
