Tour de Cupcake

These Bicycle themed cupcakes were the most challenging so far as I couldn’t find an easy way to make a fondant wheel. While looking I found some other gorgeous shape cutters so watch out for those soon.

I ended up making a bicycle wheel out of chocolate, not an easy task but they looked quite cute.  The rest of the cupcakes were decorated with 40’s for the 40th birthday and I added the King of the Mountain polka dot shirt to a few of  the cupcakes in honour of the Tour de France.  The cupcakes were red velvet and really yummy as I found the perfect recipe 3rd time round thanks to my friend Catherine.

    • Thanks they were Ed’ s idea. I made them from a mould of a baby-grow, cut off the bottom and re-shaped the arms. I had the green and yellow shirts too but didn’t use those for this order.
