Both Vee’s daughters celebrated birthdays with Giant Cupcake Cakes this year so when Vee ordered this one for Kristen I had to change the design a bit to make it unique for her. I chose a soft lime green and pastel lavender as the colour palette for the cake and made a green chocolate casing for the cupcake cake. I popped the chocolate-cased cake onto a lavender embossed board finished off with a green polka dot washi tape. The cupcake cake was generously iced with a cream cheese icing which gave me a soft background to place my gently ruffled lime and lavender ruffled flowers. I added white sugar pearls to the flower centres and small roses and blossoms to the cake.

Daisy Ruffle Cake in Peach & Lime Green
Welile celebrated her birthday in February and she was excited about my cakes and cupcakes after her sister introduced her to some of my sweet sugar work. She asked me to make this ruffle flower cake with its dainty daisies in shades of lime green and pale peach and to add a selection of cupcakes she chose from my website. The cupcakes were bright and colourful capturing the warm summer celebration day. Everyone enjoyed Welile’s celebration and enjoyed her beautiful cake and cupcakes.
Snoopy Cupcakes
Karen ordered these cute cupcakes for her daughter’s swimming team. This little Snoopy with his goggles and flippers is their mascot so I had him printed onto edible paper and then cut them and let them dry on sugar paste discs before topping the vanilla swirled cupcakes with them. The girls were delighted with these Snoopy mascot cupcakes and I’m sure after a hard training session they went down well!
Will You Marry Me Cupcakes!
It was such a sweet request (excuse the pun) of Jeffreys when he asked me to make these cupcakes for his proposal to his girlfriend. He planned to sweep her off her feet first with a delicious lunch and then to surprise her with a Will You Marry Me Dessert. As he left the design of the cupcake up to me I made 2 cupcakes, the first with 2 daintily embossed hearts with white roses and the second with a single embossed heart and a tag with his proposal of marriage. I then put the cupcakes in bright red polka dot cupcake boxes and the waiter presented this sweet proposal after lunch. Of course this sweet cupcake tale ended delightfully with Jeffrey’s girlfriend accepting his proposal and both of them enjoying their sweet treat! May these be just some of many sweet words you offer in your lives together Jeffrey!
Giraffe Cake for Davey!
Little Davey was welcomed recently into his new family and I made this cute cake with its miniature and very naughty looking giraffe to celebrate his arrival. The giraffe figurine I based on the cute giraffe in the Pretty Witty Cakes Book of Sugarcraft Characters. Suzi Witt has beautiful clear photos and directions for her Jeremy the Giraffe and I thought he was perfect for Davey’s Cake with his naughty but adorable face. Welcome Davey to your wonderful family and wishing you and your family many precious and joyful times together and of course much laughter and fun with your granny!
About a Boy and His Bear
This was my second figurine class with Vicci of Victoria Bean Bakery and it was fun going from the dainty French Girl Figurine to this one of Christopher Robin and Winnie the Pooh. Not only did we share 2 great days of swopping cake tales and tips but we learned so many valuable techniques once again from Vicci. The tree stump and its mossy mound we made using sugar paste and then paint and I added sugar paste water on my cake board and some edible chocolate rocks as well as the stepping stones. I love his cute innocent face and naughty eyes and of course his Winnie the Pooh bear!
