Cappuccino Cupcakes

Cappuccino Cupcakes

Thank you Alison for your 2nd order of birthday cupcakes to celebrate with your scrapbooking friends.  I take it as a compliment that you enjoyed the cappuccino cupcakes so much last year that you chose the flavour for these cupcakes again.  Definitely the best experience about making cappuccino cupcakes, after tasting them of course, is when you open the box and the coffee aroma wafts up to entice your senses! Nestled into the delightful coffee icing, I added a sugar paste flower and bird for Alison as she loves birds. I am sure you enjoyed your creamy cappuccino cupcakes and had fun celebrating while taking part in one of your favourite hobbies.

Cupcakes for Jo’s Sweet Sixteen Birthday!

Sweet Sixteen Cupcakes

With Jo celebrating her Sweet Sixteenth Birthday this year her mom,Liz, asked me to do cupcakes for the celebration and she chose a Strawberries and Cream theme for the cupcakes and decor.  She surprised Jo with pizza, balloons, presents, cupcakes and messages from all her friends during her school lunch break.  I baked  Strawberry and White Chocolate Cupcakes in these delicate pink and white flower cupcake cases and then made a creamy vanilla icing to top them.  I cut flowers in a variety of shapes in deep pink, pale pink and white and then combined them giving them either a contrasting rolled rose or beaded centre. Immediately after icing the cupcakes I gave each one a sprinkling of pink or white beads before adding a flower.  Thanks Liz for your order of these cupcakes for your delightful daughter and I am pleased that Jo enjoyed her surprise and her cupcakes.

Going Dilly with a drizzle of Passionfruit!

Passionfruit Cupcakes & White Chocolate Cupcakes

Two posts in a row with Passionfruit and White Chocolate Cupcakes, so yes I have gone dilly for passionfruit.  Tracy, also one of my top commenters last year, celebrated her birthday in December. As she was away over that time she received a very belated present and cupcakes from me this week. Drizzled with passionfruit, I couldn’t resist photographing them with these white chocolate chips and a spoonful of the passionfruit.  I added a sprinkling of yellow edible beads to complement the gorgeous summery yellow of the fruit.  Hope you had fun Tracy eating your belated cupcakes and thank you for taking the time out last year to comment and compliment my cupcakes on my blog.

Passion Fruit and Orange Cupcakes

Passionfruit & Orange Cupcakes

2013 will be a year of trying out new flavours and new looks for my cupcakes and as it was Daniel’s birthday last week it gave me another opportunity to try out something slightly different.  I have made the Passionfruit and White Chocolate Cupcakes before and they were a hit so I made them again adding a cream cheese icing to the cupcakes and a delicious drizzle of passion fruit with a sprinkling of white chocolate bits to the top.  I was inspired by some beautifully aromatic imported oranges I bought from Woolworths to make Orange and White Chocolate Cupcakes to add to Daniel’s gift.  I added the juice and rind of the oranges to my vanilla cupcake recipe as well as a generous helping of white chocolate chips and then added some grated orange zest to the final iced cupcakes for an added orange twist.  My favourite chocolate treat, Chuckles, provided the perfect topping for these cupcakes.  Happy Birthday Daniel and thank you for all the amazing dance inspiration and creative energy you put into every dance lesson.  I hope my culinary creativity went down well!

“I do, I do, I do”

When Michelle asked me to do these cupcakes for her friend, Claudia’s, bridal shower she sent me an email with pictures for inspiration.  One of the pictures was a beautiful macaron tower with pale pink, lavender, yellow and green macarons delicately balanced to create a perfect display.  I drew my inspiration from this picture and made sugar paste roses and flowers which I delicately coloured in pale pastels.  In keeping with the Parisian theme I made matching sugar paste pearls which I dusted with coloured lustres to match the flowers.  I added the printed “I do” tags to tie in with the bridal shower theme.  Thank you Michelle for your order and for the gorgeous inspirational pictures and I wish Claudia all the best for a beautiful wedding.

Happy Birthday to Cupcakes2Delite’s Top Commenter!

Birthday Cupcakes

You came out tops!

Congratulations Wendy for being my top commenter on Cupcakes2Delite!  Every time I receive a comment on my blog I get the same tingly excitement I had at Christmas as a kid wondering what was hidden in all the beautifully wrapped presents under the tree.  Thanks Wendy for taking the time to leave all your comments on my blog….you are the Bees Knees!  Another first for the year is your birthday you celebrated a few days ago and I wanted these birthday and thank you cupcakes to be a little different for you.  I made an orange cupcake with vanilla icing and finished off with an orange filled chocolate disc, the second flavour was a vanilla cupcake with a hidden nougat centre and vanilla icing and nougat to top it. The final flavour was a vanilla cupcake with a caramel syrup, vanilla icing and burnt caramel filled chocolate disc (thanks to Woolworths for their gorgeous chocolate products and nougat which inspired the flavours for these cupcakes).  I hope you have as much fun eating these cupcakes Wendy as the fun I have reading all your quirky comments!
