The Picture This Cupcake Class will be held at Kelly Jayne’s, Decor Park, on the 3rd Aug. I will be teaching how to make these picture frames. Frames are made using moulds (Fondant Solutions and other moulds) and then I will teach you how to create your own floral sugar masterpieces in these frames and how to paint your frames. You will take home 6 completed cupcakes in a pretty window cupcake box.

Unicorn Cupcakes – creating sweet magic!
The Unicorn craze has hit Cupcake2Delite blog here with this order of cupcakes for Sharon’s daughter’s 6th birthday. It is always tricky to make something that is being produced by almost every baker, uniquely mine, so these are definitely inspired by the hundreds of unicorn cupcake images. I hand moulded the unicorn horns and then painted them with Crystal Candy Diamond Lustre Dust in Autumn Harvest which is a pretty rose gold colour. I added cute ears dainty flowers and sprinkles in mixed colours. These all settled into rainbow swirls of pink, lilac and blue buttercream resulted in the Cupcakes2Delite version of Unicorn Cupcakes. Happy 6th Birthday Thando!
From Sharon: “Hi Lisa! the class is still talking about Thando’s birthday and especially the cupcakes! As usual, they were yummy! Thanks once again!”
Baby Shower Cupcakes for a Girl
Loretta had spotted my Pink Baby Cupcakes in my Cupcake Gallery and asked me to do similar ones for the baby shower celebration she was having for her daughter in Johannesburg. As always these baby girl decorations are loads of dainty fun in the making, but what made this project all the more exciting was having Carmen share the creative hours with me. With a quick lesson in the making of pastel baby feet and tiny pink teddies, Carmen enthusiastically got stuck in to help me. I couldn’t resist adding this picture of Carmen, pleased as punch with her sugar paste work!
From pretty pink toes, Carmen went on to help me with the itsy ditsy white sugar paste baby “footprints” and miniature flowers to pop into the intricately laced frames. I had time to play with the moulding of gorgeous pink baby-gros to which I added dainty stitching detail and heart shaped pockets. With her sugar energy and spirit in full force we finished the morning off making loads of cute buttons to add as accents on these cupcakes. Thanks Carmen for your help and for the great company and laughs along the way, I still had a smile on my face when I baked these cupcakes that week and added our pertly pink proudly made baby decorations. Loretta was delighted when she collected her cupcake order.
Giraffes and Parrots for Cupcakes
Cuteness with more than a dash of naughtiness and loads of character are the only way to describe these little Sugar Paste Parrots and Giraffes. These tropical coloured cheeky characters were such fun to create and I am so chuffed they found a soft perch on fluffy iced cupcakes.
Giraffes in all their tall elegant beauty are my favourite land animals as they grace the African planes with their serene nature and of course always have a view second to none. These Sugar Paste Giraffes I created with a slight twist to their natural elegance, as each one had its own sugar character. The dudes and dudettes with toothbrushes were a tongue in cheek acknowledgement to the recipient of the cupcake gift as he is a dentist. The cheeky dude giraffes are nonchalantly chewing on sugar branches while some of the more demure dudettes flutter their eyelashes at all their admirers.
