Green & Purple Ruffle Flower Cupcakes

Green & Purple Ruffle Flower Cupcakes

Happy Birthday Tracy

Tracy’s colourful frilled flowers in her favourite colours on dreamy chocolate cupcakes welcomed her to The Memory Shed for her birthday in July…..sorry Tracy that I am only blogging these now! My cupcake creations would not be as bright and as beautiful if it wasn’t for friends like Tracy who love life, colour and think that no birthday is quite right without a Cupcakes2Delite surprise! Thanks for all the laughs, fun, shared memories and support every Wednesday Tracy.

Just for you Tracy, I took your favourite bright lime green and shades of purple and rolled them into 2-tone roses and made layered frilled flowers with dainty beaded centres. There can never be too much added colour or sweetness in a Wacky Wednesday celebration so I added lavender sugar pearls & purple and green chocolate bits to the display.

Mama Mia Cake Topper

Mama Mia Cake

Celeste celebrated her 50th Birthday in Haga Haga in March and her theme was Mama Mia. This cake was a collaboration between Oshean of We Love Sugar in East London and myself.  I made a sugar paste cake topper based on the Mama Mia theme with the suitcase, sunhat, guitar and other beach goodies and Oshean and her team baked and decorated the cake for this topper. I was so delighted to see such a gorgeous cake with its inviting Greek doorway into a weekend of fun for Celeste and her guests.  Thank you Celeste for trusting Oshean and myself with your 50th Birthday Celebration!  Wishing you a wonderful year ahead and may you continue to celebrate every occasion with such passion and love.

Cupcakes in a Jar

Cupcakes in a JarThese cute Cupcakes in a Jar were especially ordered by Zanele for Khanyi. It was a great idea of Zanele’s to have each cupcake spell out a letter of Khanyi’s name.  I piped vanilla buttercream into the bottom of each jar then added a red velvet cupcake topped with blue and red pearls, blossoms and an initial.  These cupcakes were definitely Happiness in a Jar!

Hello Kitty Cake for Rea

Hello Kitty CakeHello Kitty CupcakesFor Rea’s 1st Birthday her mom, Welile, ordered this Hello Kitty Giant Cupcake Cake and Cupcakes.  The colours were the traditional pink and white of the Hello Kitty we know and love. I iced the cupcakes in a soft pink buttercream and added sugar paste Hello Kittys and pink sugar pearls to the cupcakes.  The cake was popped into a deep rose pink chocolate casing and then iced with buttercream rose swirls each encasing a tiny pink blossom. I am particularly proud of my sugar paste Hello Kitty with her bright pink embossed dress and pink sugar bow sitting proudly beside her Giant Cupcake Cake. I completed this special occasion cake for Rea by adding her name and a number 1 in yellow and then topped off the cake with a cute Hello Kitty bow. Thank you Welile for such a fun order for your daughter!

Blue Fairy Figurine Cake with Vicci!

Blue Fairy Figurine Cake Class with Vicci!

Just delighted with our Blue Fairies!

The Blue Fairy Figurine Cake was another exciting class we did with Vicci of Victoria Bean Bakery a while ago. We made a 2 tier cake, handpainted, embossed and draped with Crystal Candy Lace. Our Blue Fairies flew on top of our cakes with their cute faces, dainty blue petal tunics and their pretty lace wings. We were all delighted with our completed cakes and a fun day spent in awesome creativity.

I added some sugar paste butterflies, whimsical flowers, edible pebbles and a satin finished, embossed petal covered board to complement the cake.

Pink Rose Apple Cupcakes

Pink Rose Apple Cupcakes

Lisa(TQO) celebrated another friend’s birthday a few weeks ago and the flavour request for her cupcakes was Apple and Cinnamon.  She also asked me to do a pale lime green icing with a pink rose decoration. Woolworths happened to have on their shelves a gorgeous round apple called Honey Crunch and they were perfect with their sweet-tart flavour for these cupcakes.  I flavoured the icing with a hint of apple essence for an extra apple ‘bite’. As a challenge to myself I photographed the cupcakes twice after learning a few tricks from Sam Ellis (www.samellis.co.za) during the photography course we did with her recently.  For all my commenters let me know what you think.  Lisa thanks again for your order.
